Heather Wilcox

Matthew Wilcox supported his wife of 24 years, Heather, through her diagnosis of DCIS Stage 0 breast cancer with simultaneous pre cervical cancer. Matthew credits her early diagnosis to Heather getting a new doctor who ordered tests and labs for her. “Without that they may have not found out in time.” Matthew admires his wife for her positive attitude and high pain tolerance saying,” I was always worried I would have to see her in pain, which would break my heart.” His best advice for other men supporting their wife through her cancer diagnosis,” Accept as much help as you can. Don’t be too proud to accept meals, rides, childcare and prayers. Accept it all and be grateful for it.”
