Bob and Kathy Hammond went into the treatment for Kathy’s Invasive Her2 positive breast cancer with guns blazing. Kathy who is consistent on her yearly mammogram had found a lump and expressed her concern to her doctor, who then ordered a sonogram since her mammogram found nothing concerning. Kathy, who is celebrating 10 years of remission, had Bob there through her entire breast cancer battle. Bob says, “It was my responsibility to provide as much physical and emotional support to help her build and maintain her defenses.” Bob’s advice to others, “Study the disease as diagnosed, research treatments, and don’t be afraid to get second or even third opinions on the most current treatment and success probabilities.”
